‘Sanctioned by the Jaffery Sports Club’

 

The Number of Players

 

A match is played by two teams each consisting of not more than six players, one of whom is the goalkeeper.  4 Players must be on the ground to start the game.  As soon as the officials are ready the game will begin.  Any team not having the desired four player ready at the start of the time, the game will be forfeited with a scoreline of 3-0.

 

Substitution Procedure

 

The number of substitutions made during a match is unlimited. A player who has been replaced may return to the pitch as a substitute for another player. Players are allowed to change places with the goalkeeper at anytime except when there is a penalty.  The player who is in goals at the time when the Penalty is awarded should be in goals when the Penalty is taken.

 

Substitutions should take place when there is a break in play.

 

The Players’ Equipment

 

A player must not use equipment or wear anything that is dangerous to himself or another player. Jewellery must be taped.

 

Basic Equipment

 

The basic compulsory equipment of a player is:

 

>        Kits given to them by Jaffery Sports.  Anyone not wearing the full kit will not be allowed to play.

>        Footwear- astro trainers or trainers only. No studded, moulded or blade boots.

 

The Referee

 

Each match is controlled by a referee who has the full authority to enforce the Laws of the Game in connection with the match to which he has been appointed, from the moment he enters the locality where the pitch is situated until he leaves.

 

Powers and Duties – The Referee

 

>        Enforces the Laws of the Game

>        Keeps a record of the match and provides the appropriate authorities with a match report regarding action taken against players and team officials

>        Acts as timekeeper

>        Takes disciplinary action against players guilty of offences.

>        Takes action against team officials who fail to conduct themselves in a responsible manner and may, at his discretion, expel them from the pitch.

>         Ensures that no unauthorised persons enter the pitch

>        Stops the match if, in his opinion , a player is seriously injured.

>        Make use of timed suspensions.

 

Decisions of the Referee

 

The decisions of the Referee regarding facts connected with play are final.

 

The Duration of the Match

 

The duration of the game shall be 20 minutes.  10 minutes each half without a break for half time. 

 

Start of Play

 

The choice of ends is decided by the toss of a coin – the loosing team has the kick off.

 

The Kick Off

 

A kick of is a way of starting or restarting play at the start of a match.  After a goal has been scored the teams Do Not start from the center.

 

 A goal may be scored directly from the kick-off.

 

The Ball In and Out of Play

 

Ball is out of play when it has wholly crossed the goal line or touchline, or when play has been stopped by the referee.

 

Ball is in play at all other times including rebounds from a goal post or crossbar.  The only exception being when it crosses the lines at one side of the ground which will be specified to you on the ground.

Offside and Head Height Rule

 

There is no offside and no head height rule.

 

Direct Free Kick

 

All free kicks are direct and are awarded to the opposing team for all offences as per the rules of Association Football including the following:

 

>        Slide tackles – as these are not allowed in small sided football.

 

A goal may be scored from a direct free kick.

 

Position of Free Kick

 

All opponents must be at least 5 yards from the ball until it is in play and be taken from the place where the infringement occurred.

 

The Penalty Kick

 

A penalty kick is awarded against a team that commits any offences for which a direct free kick is awarded, inside its own penalty area and while the ball is in play.

 

A goal may be scored directly from a penalty kick.

 

The Kick In

All opponents must be at least 5 yards from the place where the kick-in is taken.

The Corner Kick

 

A goal may be scored directly from a corner kick.  Opponents should be 5 yards from the ball.

 

Registration of Players

 

Teams found guilty of playing unregistered players will be penalised with a 3-0 defeat.

 

Discipline Procedure

 

Referees will use temporary timed suspensions (Sin Bin Rule) in all cases regarded as cautionable offences.  Sin Bin will be for 1 minutes after which the referee will allow the player to enter the ground.

 

The options for a match official imposing disciplinary sanctions are therefore:

 

>        Player shown a Yellow Card is temporarily suspended from play.  Sin Bin (1 Minute)

>        Player issued with a second Yellow card is permanently excluded from that game.

>        Player issued with a  red card is permanently excluded from that game and the next.

 

During the Sin Bin the player is obligated to leave the pitch and remain there until he is called by the referee.

 

SLIDE TACKLE will result in a yellow card.

Sending- off Offences (Red Cards):

 

A Player is sent off and shown the red card if he:

 

>        Is guilty of serious foul play, violent conduct or spits at another person.

>        Denies the opposing team a goal or an obvious  goal –scoring opportunity by deliberately handling the ball or to an opponent by moving towards the player’s goal by an offence punishable by a free kick or a penalty kick.

>        Using offensive, insulting or abusive language.

 

 

Decisions on Yellow and Red Cards

 

A player who has been sent off may not take any further part in the match.

 

For any of these offences, except for handball which is a penalty, a direct free kick is awarded to the opposing team, to be taken from where the infringement occurred. If the offence was committed within the penalty area the direct free kick is taken 5 yards outside the penalty area.

 

 

TRADING

Each team is allowed to trade a player from another team 3 times during the season.  The team captain for both teams involved must agree and come to the Jaffery Football Committee to confirm the trade.

 

The team who initiated the trade will be deducted a point for each trade that goes through. 

 

If the Jaffery Committee feels that this rule is misused or if unethical methods of trading have been used then they have all the authority no to allow a trade without any explanation.

 

We hope that this leage us played in the best of spirits.  This is our first time and inorder to continue with the league we hope to make this a success. 

 

Play to Win but if winning involves bad sportsmanship then Don’t play at all.
